Denise Chipman Partner, Executive Vice President, Human Resources
Denise is the Executive Vice President of Human Resources and a founding partner of Avalon Risk Management. Since joining Avalon at inception in 1998, she has worked for the company in many different capacities. Her multi-faceted experience at Avalon has made her an invaluable “go-to” resource for the entire organization. She currently oversees the Human Resources Department as well as the Training and Development team. She is responsible for establishing, enforcing, and evaluating the human resource policies, procedures and best practices and for identifying and implementing Avalon’s long-range strategic talent management goals.
She provides poised and sound guidance and leadership to her teams on compensation and benefits issues and is a sounding board for all managers and employees on human resource concerns. Denise also oversees the overall office operational needs at our headquarters in Chicago and helps coordinate our compliance and efficiency initiatives. Denise holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. She occasionally misses working with numbers, yet she finds working with our team members more rewarding than finalizing a financial statement. When not serving as a resource to others, Denise enjoys traveling around the United States with her husband, especially by car. She prefers to enjoy the beauty of our cities, landscapes and wildlife from the ground versus flying!
