Ben Llaneta serves as the Corporate Counsel for Avalon Risk Management. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1990 and has worked at various insurance companies. He was the General Counsel for a Lloyd’s service company cover-holder prior to joining Avalon in 2016. Ben’s responsibilities include overseeing Avalon’s legal and regulatory matters. Having extensive prior claims experience, Ben has been an invaluable resource to Avalon’s Transportation Claims Department. He regularly assists Avalon’s claims, underwriting and sales personnel in various areas such as coverage analysis, policy wording, complex contract reviews and other related topics.
Ben previously served as an Arbitrator with the Circuit Court of Cook County Arbitration Program and as Vice-Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Transportation Law Committee. Outside of work, Ben enjoys an occasional round of golf, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
